Psychometric self-assessments can be a useful starting point in your self-discovery journey, offering insight into traits you may relate to and helping you decide whether to pursue a formal diagnosis.

However, self-assessment tools have limitations and should not be seen as a definitive answer.

If you choose to seek a formal diagnosis, it's important to consult a qualified professional with expertise in autism—ideally, someone who understands how autism presents in different people and takes co-occurring factors into account, such as alexithymia, ADHD, PTSD, and camouflaging. A thorough assessment should consider your lived experiences, not just standard diagnostic criteria.
